The twitter.com site says (I’m paraphrasing) “Stay connected to friends and family because even basic messages are meaningful when they are timely”.
Riiiiight. So to make this all work, you are actually near a PC to get the tweets and (posssibly really important) have friends.
We all have a device that keep us connected…it’s called a cellphone dammit! Is twitter the internet extension cum evolution of text messaging?
And yet I am having trouble reconciling how popular it is. I told my pal Rick Farris about it (his brother Brad told him first) as he so eloquently puts it: “It’s for letting everyone know when you fart.” Nevertheless, he seems to really like it judging by how much he posts to it.
Also, there appears to be all this etiquette surrounding it’s usage which, quite frankly, I find annoying. Is it just a high speed blog with more direct contact? Because if it is then I contend it is nothing more than a Ruby On Rails Experiment gone horribly awry.
